While ice fishing on Lake Ontelaunee, I had a big run on a tip up with a minnow beneath. I got it close to the hole, but lost it. I told my friend, I missed about a 5 lb. Largemouth Bass. He harassed me all afternoon saying that I was the only guy he knew who knows how much a fish weighs when I miss it. Later that day, I got another run in the same area. The fish I caught was 22 inches and unofficially weighed 6.5 lbs. I turned to my friend and said he was right about me not knowing the weight of the fish I miss., in fact I underestimated the weight ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Everyone around me was amazed when I released it back into the lake to get even bigger.
