Berkley's PowerBait Fight'n Bug

Berkley's PowerBait Fight'n Bug

Pure Fishing recently introduced Berkley's 3 ½-inch PowerBait Fight'n Bug to the bass-fishing world. According to the folks at Berkley and its staff of professional anglers, the Fight'n Bug is an exceptional cool-water bait.

Its torso has four leg-like appendages, which quiver rapidly as they move through the water. The tip of its head is endowed with two long antennas. Two distinctive claws radiate from the side of its head, and the claws are open in the shape of a U, exhibiting a fierce and defensive demeanor. Its claws are different than the wide and flapping-style claws on Berkley's Pit Boss, Rocket Craw, Craw Fatty, and Pit Chunk, but the Fight'n Bug's claws undulate and vibrate provocatively during all styles of presentations.

It was created for power anglers to flip and pitch and rigged on a skirted jig or Texas-rigged on a worm hook with a slip sinker. But since Dion Hibdon of Versailles, Missouri, and his father, Guido Hibdon of Sunrise, Missouri, created the first soft-plastic crayfish, which was called the Guido Bug, back in the late 1970s, many Midwest finesse anglers have been rigging soft-plastic crayfish on a small jig similar to Gopher Tackle's 1/16 and 3/32-ounce Mushroom Head Jigs. And Midwest finesse anglers might be interested in working with the Fight'n Bug on a small Gopher jig.

It is available in 11 colors: Alabama Craw, Black Blue Flake, Black Red Flake, Big Texan, Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin Purple Flake, June Bug, Molting, Okeechobee Craw, Rusty Crafish, and Watermelon. It is impregnated with PowerBait scent. A package of eight sells for $4.99.
